Fable

We finally checked out Fable last weekend and we’re so glad we did, what an amazing addition to the Vancouver foodie scene!
We instantly fell in love with the casual fine dining ambiance and felt the decor to be a true tribute to farm to table dining.
We couldn’t have asked for better service at any point in the evening, from the time we were greeted at the door to table
service, to personally delivered mains by Chef Trevor himself.
Such a classy personalized touch, clearly a Chef who truly cares about his food & a real connection with his customers.

Chickpea Fritters

What an amazing way to start an absolutely fantastic meal.
These perfectly crisp yet tender fritters were seasoned just right.
Topped with a creamy Curry Mayo, savory Pickled Red Onion & Pea Shoots,
a beautiful combination of flavors, we completely adored!

Flat Iron Steak

Cooked perfectly medium – rare this main was definitely appreciated!
The Black Pepper Jam was a delightful flavor combination with the Flat Iron Steak.
Broccolini & Potato Fondant sides were well seasoned and great accompaniments.
Highly recommended!

Gnocchi & Butternut Squash

What a great Veggie Entrée!
Both the Butternut Squash & Gnocchi were cooked just right.
The Hazelnuts added great texture and the tender Swiss Chard proved a delightful
way to incorporate greens into the dish.
Veggie or not we definitely say give this one a try!

Silkscarf Ensemble Blanc 2011

This great Alsatian style white blend brings Gewurtztraminer, Pinot Gris & Riesling together to produce a deliciously balanced aromatic blend.
With aromas & flavors of lychee, spice & sweet tangerine, floral Gewurztraminer notes are definitely prevalent.
We just love this little Summerland gem of a winery & definitely make sure it’s on our agenda while in wine country.
The owners are absolutely lovely people & we highly recommend stopping by for a visit to sample some of the wonderful wines they are producing!

Stoneboat 2011 Chorus

This lovely blend of  Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Viognier, Muller Thurgau, Kerner & Schoenburger
proves to be another vintage of  beautiful balance between tropical fruits and acidity!
Stoneboat’s Chorus has been one of our personal favorite white Okanagan blends in the last
couple of years, and this year’s certainly did not disappoint!
Old Vine aromatics are truly in perfect balance with both the Pinot Blanc & Gris in the blend.
We recommend this  juicy wine with seafood or spicy foods, think Pad Thai!

Peaceful Restaurant

We highly recommend checking out this little Northern Chinese restaurant while in the West Broadway area.
The line up is usually long, but quick, the food is packed full of flavor, the noodles are hand crafted and the faces are friendly!
Take Out is also available.

Peaceful Beef Rolls

A signature dish at Peaceful restaurant, the beef in these super flavorful Rolls is seasoned with five spices & slowly cooked resulting in a delightfully tender filling. The crispy Green Onion Flatbread complements the beef perfectly. Definitely a favorite of the evening!

Vegetable Dumplings

Stuffed with Tofu, Vermicelli, Bok Choy, Mushrooms & Carrot, the Dumplings were perfectly pan-fried and packed full of

So often we experience under seasoned, bland veggie Dumplings or Gyoza.
Peaceful Restaurants version were definitely not that!
