Stepho’s is a West End / Vancouver Greek institution.
Good food, super reasonable prices and long line ups are all pretty staple at this little Greek spot on Davie street.
We recommend checking it out for a late lunch, early dinner or a late night bite to eat to avoid that inevitable 7:00pm line up.
Stepho’s does take reso’s for groups of five or more, probably not a bad idea if you’re planning a group night out!
Hummus & Pita Appetizer
Hummus was nice & garlicky, drizzled with good olive oil and finished with tomatoes, olives, cucumbers and a chili pepper.
A fresh squeeze of lemon would have made this yummy dip perfect!
Pita bread was fresh & nicely grilled.
Such a good deal!
The Spanakopita Appy consists of two large Spinach and Feta stuffed Phyllo Pies.
Well seasoned, this dish is great for any Spinach lover.
We definitely recommend ordering a side of Tzatziki for dipping.
More than enough to share as an appy or as a main with a Greek salad, roasted potatoes or rice on the side.
Option Two: Take one home for lunch the next day, this Spanakopita heats up great in the oven!
Stepho’s Oven Roasted Potatoes are super tasty.
Nicely browned, crispy and full of lemon flavors!
We added a bit of Salt & Pepper love, dipped them in tzatziki and they were just right.
Beef Souvlaki
Another bargain – $8.95 for a single Skewer & $11.95 for a double skewer!
Beef Souvlaki was tasty & nice and tender.
Rice, Potato and Greek salad all could have benefited from a little additional seasoning, nothing that we couldn’t correct at the table.
Overall a really enjoyable entree!
Recommendation: Check Stepho’s out for “sit down meal” prices that can’t be beat, generous portions and tasty Greek cuisine.
Go early or go prepared to wait in line!
